Our yarn doesn't contain animal fibres so there is very low risk of skin rashes, cough or runny nose caused by allergy.
WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF YOU USE THE WRONG YARN FOR MAKING THE GIFT
1. You spend money on yarn and tens of hours on making a gift
2. They start using the gift but it turns out unusable because you've used the wrong type of yarn
3. They put your gift away and never use it, re-gift or donate it
4. Your heart is broken and you feel upset that you wasted your time and money
4 REASONS WHY USING THE WRONG TYPE OF YARN CAN STOP PARENTS FROM USING HANDMADE GIFT YOU MADE FOR THEIR BABY
REASON 1 - UNSAFE FOR BABIES
Mums worry all the time about their babies and they will not give your crocheted or knitted gift to their baby if they think it could be unsafe.
HARMFUL TOXINS – Teething babies put everything in their mouth. Mums worry that harmful substances in yarn could migrate to babies’ stomach when chewing on a toy or a blanket.
CHOKING HAZARD – If the yarn you used sheds excessively, the chunks of fibres that baby pulls out of the surface can pose a choking hazard.
OVERHEATING - Artificial fibres like 100% acrylic, polyester or nylon are non breathable. Being too warm increases the risk of cot death.
ALLERGIES – Animal fibres like wool can cause skin allergies.
Reason 2 - TOO HIGH MAINTENANCE
CAN’T BE WASHED IN A WASHING MACHINE
SHEDS TOO MUCH FIBERS ON CLOTHES AND FURNITURE
REQUIRES REMOVING/SHAVING PILLS TOO OFTEN
Busy parents of young babies have a very little spare time between feeding, washing, cleaning and are exhausted most of the time so if the yarn you used sheds, pills and can’t be washed in a washing machine the item you made will likely not be used too often.
Reason 3 - STARTS LOOKING UNSIGHTLY
EXCESSIVE PILLING
They may have loved your item and used it at first but when it became covered in ugly pills, it will probably end up hidden out of sight.
Reason 4 - FEELS SCRATCHY
The item made with high content of Wool and Acrylic can feel scratchy and unpleasant. Babies skin is very gentle and mums can avoid giving you gift to a baby if they think it will irritate their skin or make them uncomfortable.

HERE IS THE REAL QUESTION
Would you rather spend 40 hours of your time making a baby blanket with £30 worth of 100% Acrylic yarn that is likely to be used for a short while and then never again?
Or would you rather spend £50 on better quality yarn that will enable your blanket to be used daily for the next few years and even passed down to the next generation?

Lovely to work with
I recently discovered dreamywool’s chunky yarn and I’m so glad that I did. There’s a trend at the moment for making amigurumi out of chenille blanket yarn but i find that it sheds fluff terribly and is difficult to work with as you can’t see your stitches… dreamywool is the solution to this! It’s really lovely to work with, it doesn’t split as you use it and it gives a fantastic end result that looks simply beautiful. I look forward to making many of my other designs using dreamywool in the future.

Great for amigurumi!
This yarn was certainly soft and a delight to work with. My finished item (a panda) had great stitch definition, just like cotton yarn, but is soft like acrylic- the best of both! The minimal piling is definitely a huge selling point for this yarn.
Dreamy wool is currently available in a chunky weight, but with more weights and colours in the pipeline I’m certain this will be a go-to yarn for a lot of designers and makers of amigurumi and crocheted baby items.

No fears of chocking
Made the pig cuddle blanket by ‘crochet arcade’ in this beautiful yarn. It’s a totally different texture to what I’ve used previously but is so smooth with no ‘pile shedding’ unlike a previous brand that I’ve used for these blankets, which unfortunately, prevented my daughter allowing her new baby play with it due to the chocking hazard that it became. It took a little while to get used to the texture, but it is well worth it. I will be able to gift this blanket to my son & daughter in law with no fears of it being a chocking hazard.
