CROCHET HOOK SIZE: Any size between 5 mm and 7 mm depending on what size heart you'd like to achieve.

SMALL HEART APPLIQUÉ CROCHET PATTERN

SIZE: W 1 ½” x H 1 ¼”

MATERIALS: 60“ of Dreamy Wool Cuddle Soft Chunky in Candy Floss colour.

Pattern notes: The applique is crocheted in a joined round. 2 chs count as a hdc.

Starting: Using J/10 (6 mm) hook, make a magic ring, leaving around 4” starting tail for sewing the holes.

← Round 1 [RS] 1 ch, make following sts in the center of the magic ring: 2 chs, dc, hdc, sc, hdc, 1 ch, hdc, sc, hdc, dc, 2 chs and sl st in the center of the magic ring. Pull on the starting tail to close the ring. (11 sts)

Finishing: Fasten off leaving 15” tail for attaching the applique to the blanket. Weave in the starting tail securely sewing the large holes at same time.

LARGE HEART APPLIQUÉ CROCHET PATTERN

SIZE: W 2 ½”  x H 2 ¼”    

MATERIALS: 120“ of Dreamy Wool Cuddle Soft Chunky in Candy Floss colour.

Pattern notes:   The applique is crocheted in a round. 3 chs count as a dc.     

Starting: Using J/10 (6 mm) hook, make a magic ring, leaving around 6” starting tail for sewing the holes.    

← Round 1 [RS]    1 ch, 6 sc in the center of the magic ring, pull on the starting tail to close the ring,  join to the 1st st with sl st.  (6 sts)
← Round 2 [RS]    3 chs, <dc, tr> in first st, <tr, dc, hdc> in next st, <sc, hdc, dc> in next st, 1 ch, <dc, hdc, sc> in next st, <hdc, dc, tr> in next st, <tr, dc> in next st, 3 chs and sl st to the bottom of last st. (19 sts)

Finishing: Fasten off leaving 20” tail for attaching the applique to the blanket.  Pull on the starting tail to tighten the magic ring and tie a knot at the back with the ending tail to secure the sts. Weave in the starting tail securely sewing the large holes at same time.
